Perhaps the most important eye conditions for anyone involved in eye care to be aware of are those with severe disease associations and possible deadly consequences. This discussion will include the identification of important ophthalmic signs and symptoms as well as historical information that will alert the practitioner to the presence of an ocular condition with systemic associations which, if recognized in a timely fashion, can prevent lethal outcomes.
