Our team is constantly reviewing the Vision Expo East Health & Safety Guidelines in accordance with New York City and New York State public health requirements and in collaboration with the Javits Center. Vaccination Requirement

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for entry to the Javits Center. All Vision Expo East participants are required to show proof of full vaccination with a COVID-19 vaccine authorized for emergency use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or World Health Organization (WHO).

Wear Your Mask: Face Coverings Required

Increased Sanitization And Hygiene

Vision Expo East has worked closely with the Javits Center to implement cleaning and sanitization standards that meet or exceed the recommendations of the CDC. Follow All Signage And Direction From Staff

Please adhere to all signage and direction from all staff, including our Safety Ambassadors. We have adjusted our layout and implemented exhibitor recommendations with capacity management and the wellbeing of our guests in mind. Operational adjustments may occur throughout the event.

At this time, “fully vaccinated” means that the day of your entry to Vision Expo East must be at least 14 days after completion of your primary series of an FDA or WHO approved or authorized COVID-19 vaccine, such as:

  • second dose of a two dose COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna), or
  • single dose of a single dose COVID-19 vaccine (Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine)

In accordance with CDC guidelines, booster shots are not required to be considered fully vaccinated, however, please note that the CDC recommends that people remain up to date with their vaccines, which includes additional doses for individuals who are immunocompromised or booster doses at regular time points. Please note that this remains subject to further update as CDC guidance is revised.

The following vaccinates approved by the FDA or authorized by the FDA for emergency use*:

  • Pfizer (BioNTech)
  • Moderna
  • J&J (Jansen)

The following vaccines authorized by the WHO for emergency use*:

  • Oxford - AstraZeneca

The following vaccine used during a U.S. based clinical trial:

  • Novavax

RX and Vision Expo East will accept mixed COVID-19 vaccine schedules of WHO-authorized vaccines to establish full vaccination status.

No, only fully vaccinated participants will be granted access to Vision Expo East. Negative COVID-19 tests are not accepted and there will be no exceptions granted.

No. We are unable to provide access to the physical event for those who are not fully vaccinated. To accommodate those unable to meet admission requirements, Vision Expo East plans to include variety of digital / virtual resources, which brings Vision Expo East highlights, content and updates to the industry community wherever they are. Vision Expo East show management partners closely with all venues, local, state, and federal health authorities to maintain a robust operational plan designed to maximize the health and safety of everyone. These include:

  • Exhibitor guidelines and booth design standards
  • Reduced contact transactions

The Javits Center is proud to have received GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation in recognition of enhanced venue health and safety measures. Established by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (a division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association) the GBAC STAR™ program establishes requirements to support venue work practices, protocols, procedures, and systems that minimize risks associated with infectious agents such as COVID-19.

Everyone in attendance at Vision Expo East is expected to fully comply with terms of service for participation in Vision Expo East, including all health and safety guidelines.

Acknowledging the guidelines and agreeing to comply is a requirement of entry (See the Health & Safety Acknowledgement linked above). Vision East will have specially designated Safety Ambassadors available to ensure all guidelines are being followed. A health and safety contact phone number will be clearly noted on signage throughout Vision Expo East to allow for reporting of any concerns or issues. Show management may remove, ban or revoke the badge without refund of anyone who fails to comply or impacts the safety or security of the Event, each in show management’s sole and absolute discretion
