Moving Vision Forward

Campaigns funded by The Vision Council, co-owners of Vision Expo, generated 1.7+ billion media impressions in 2018, growing the industry and raising awareness to ultimately improve consumer vision. Your participation in Vision Expo helps to fund these important initiatives.

Think About Your Eyes is a national public awareness campaign, presented by The Vision Council and the American Optometric Association, designed to educate the public on the benefits of vision health and promote the importance of getting an annual comprehensive eye exam.

  • Patients who take action because of Think About Your Eyes have a shorter exam cycle—from 24 months to 14 months, a time span cut by nearly half.
  • Patients are purchasing at a higher rate—a 34% increase in contact lens sales, a 41% increase in glasses sales—this means growth for the industry.
  • In 2017, 3.4 million eye exams* can be attributed to the campaign, resulting in industry revenue of $752 million.

The Eyecessorize campaign communicates the latest eyewear trends and lifestyle options to consumers, with the goal of positioning eyeglasses, sunglasses and reading glasses as must-have fashion accessories and health necessities in the media.
