Education Recommendations

Education Recommendations

Recommendations from YPC Advisory Group member, Casey Wilgenbusch, Student, ICO:

CE is a bit of a misnomer for students as we are currently receiving "education" when it comes to the science of the eye and how to fix it. If I see a topic about a certain disease that I really like or would like more information, I will definitely consider going. However, I come to Expo to learn about the things we aren't taught at school: The business side of optometry. How to create an outstanding customer experience. How to motivate and cultivate a positive work environment. These all separate a good practice from an exceptional practice.

We Need to (Pop-Up) Talk: Defining the Relationship and Why It's Important with INVISION Colleen Galanti and Sherry Berry
Reflecting on the connections I have made and the opportunities those connections have created is a testament to the importance of creating a network around you. The ability to form relationships, whether it’s between doctors or between vendors, is a huge step in forming connections with patients.

12B3 Customer Experience: Creating Memorable Patient Experiences
How do the best companies in cutthroat markets continue to succeed? By creating a unique customer experience. Creating an exceptional experience in your practice will differentiate yourself from the competition and bring back patients with friends and family in tow.

24C1 Creating a 5-Star Patient Experience
Learn how to properly utilize new technology and tactics to create a 'wow' factor to differentiate your practice and create greater customer loyalty.

26B3 Customer Experience: How to Irritate Your Patients
An unfortunate reality is that customers (including ourselves) remember a bad experience almost as well as a truly outstanding experience. Learn the top 25 ways to create a poor customer experience including things we see as unavoidable. Then, learn the correct practice policy to minimize those bad Yelp reviews.

43B3 "I Wish This Was Taught in School!" - Essential Career Development Tips for Young Professionals
This CE is designed specifically for students and young professionals such as myself. You cannot pass up an opportunity to learn about what you don't learn in school
